Cloud Compare Suspending

Post by calebC4 »

Hello,

I tried various versions of Cloud compare.

I have a Dell Laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
32 GB of RAM
and an i9 Processor

I run CC and with task manager open, the program instantly quits, with no error which is very fustrating. The program seems to suspend with no reason. Even after uninstalling and re-installing the Microsoft C++ executable the program is not opening.

Is the issue the hardware of my computer? Please advise.

Generally it's because the GPU (or its driver) is blacklisted by Qt.

Two options:
- either you also have in parallel an Intel chipset. In which case it may be picked by default and rejected by Qt. In this case you should be able to force Windows to use the NVidia card when launching CC (via the NVidia control panel)
- or you can try to update your drivers
